New brat pan enhances Beacon Foods versatility for small batch orders

October 9th 2026

Beacon Foods has invested £60,000 in a new 300-litre brat pan which allows the company the versatility to service smaller batch orders of between 50 to 150 kilograms.

The Brecon-based company uses the new equipment to make its popular compotes, chutneys, relishes, candied zests and boiled products.

“As a business, we like to be flexible when servicing customer orders of all sizes,” explained Jas Singh, Beacon Foods’ operations director. “We have larger kettles for
customers ordering two tonnes of product, but the brat pan is ideal for smaller, 50 to 150 kilo orders.”

The stainless steel brat pan has a unique, high pressure, steam jacket design for high cooking temperatures, hygienic construction and finish.

Beacon Foods has invested more than £6 million in the last three years to double the size of the company’s manufacturing and storage facilities.

The company’s customers include food manufacturers, food service, coffee shops, fast food chains and travel and hospitality industries.

Established in 1993, the company is the UK’s leading specialist producer of garlic, ginger and chili puree, roasted and char grilled vegetables and fruit ranges, relishes,
chutneys, sauces, soups, confit and fruit compotes.

The ingredients go into thousands of products, including sandwiches, ready meals, pizzas, soups, drinks and desserts, which can be found on supermarket shelves,
airlines, restaurant chains and coffee shops.
