Brecon-based Beacon Foods, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of ingredients and ready-to-eat products, has added a new van to its fleet of delivery vehicles which travel to all corners of the UK mainland.

The versatile Peugeot Boxer has a dual role, as its equipped to carry both frozen and chilled products to customers.

Beacon Foods’ fleet varies from articulated and rigid lorries down to small vans. The lorries are capable of dual temperatures and all vehicles have the benefit of a Quartix scheduling system with real time tracking and temperature monitoring systems.

“We bought the new van because it can carry frozen and chilled products together and we are seeing growing demand from customers,” said Simon Morgan, Beacon Foods’ transport and purchasing manager.

“We now make 95% of the deliveries with our own fleet of vehicles and we travel to most parts of Wales, England the Scotland, which is all part of the personal customer service provided by the company.”

Beacon Foods is seeing major growth in orders for its wide range of ingredients which go into literally thousands of products, including sandwiches, ready meals, pizzas, soups, drinks and desserts.

These products can be found on supermarket shelves and with airlines, restaurant chains and coffee shops.

Continuing investment in state-of-the-art machinery allows Beacon Foods to offer UK produced, bespoke recipes of ready to eat IQF (individual quick frozen) char grilled and roasted vegetables which are proving extremely popular with customers.

Established in 1993, the company is the UK’s leading specialist producer of garlic, ginger and chili puree, roasted and char grilled vegetables and fruit ranges, relishes, chutneys, sauces and fruit compotes.
